The Special Assistant to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State on Electoral Matters (Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District), Barrister Chris Okorie has resigned his appointment. Barr. Okorie said since his appointment in December 2015, he was yet to be assigned roles commensurate with his office/pedigree and was not assigned office.
He said he was left redundant in his office. Hence his resignation on June 28, 2017. In a letter addressed to the Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel through the Secretary to the State Government. Sir Etekamba Umoren, Barr Okorie thanked the governor for the opportunity and prays the working conditions for aides improves in the future.
By this implication, it can clearly be seen that, in confirmation of reported nonchalancy on the part of the governor regarding the welfare of his aides. He had only made some of these appointments owing to the fear of the consequence of the governorship election tussle at supreme court, should they have been a call another election. Barr. Okorie is just one of many other aides who are not comfortable with their experiences, but cannot take the boldness taken by Okorie.
