Lagos State Launches Eko Coconut Bread In a bid to boost food security in the state. Lagos State Government has launched the first Eko Coconut bread to serve the population of over 22 million people in the state.
The Eko Coconut bread
was produced by the Lagos State Coconut Development Authority (LASCODA).
Special Adviser to the Lagos State Government on Food Security, Hon. Ganiyu Sanni Okanlawon while launching the bread Stated that Eko Coconut Bread being launched by Government is a demonstration of her commitment in promoting Coconut value chain in the state.
He added that the development is a step in the right direction in realizing the full potentials derivable from coconut and making the state a food secured place. Hon Okanlawon Stated further that coconut has a lot of benefits as it has been has been scientifically
proven to have a lot of medicinal values when
consumed on regular basis.
“Coconut has been scientifically proven to have a lot of medicinal values if consumed on regular basis,” he said. Hon. Okanlawon said that there are enormous benefit from coconut as many product such as coconut oil, coconut cream, soap, Burundi, coconut water, hair cream, coconut body cream, coconut candy and many others.
He stated further that
coconut is very medicinal as it can be used for quick healing of wounds, cough, and to prevent cancer.
He added that the inclusion of coconut into bread will go a long way in ensuring the consumption of coconut by a large chunk of the populace as the consumption of Coconut products is still very limited which makes the medicinal values of
Coconut less exploited.
